Morocco : Hot Air Balloon over Amizmiz
A 4am wake up call pulled us from our beds to embark on a hot air balloon adventure outside Marrakesh! We were greeted with hot coffee & mint tea and then we gathered on short stools around fires as our guides prepared the balloons. In between speculations of what it would be like, we searched out constellations in the clear early morning sky. As the first light began to dawn, the balloons put on a little pyro show with their torches and then we were hurried aboard our baskets. After a few moments of bumping along the ground, we suddenly lifted. And were soaring! The most magical and delightful feeling! We continued to float, the lush green fields and clay structures of the Berber Villages flowing beneath us. The sun came above the horizon and we marveled in the palette of colors spread before us. All too soon our ride came to an end and we landed amidst the succulent grass. A short drive brought us back to camp where we enjoyed a delicious breakfast with the morning breeze.
